Cory Freeman
After many years of chasing after freelance writing and editing gigs, Cory Freeman decided to pursue a career and degree in publishing. During his studies at PSU, Cory uncovered a passion for middle grade and young adult fiction. He is a 2010 graduate of the Ooligan Press Masters in Writing & Book Publishing program at Portland State University, and after graduation, Cory founded RainTown Press, Portland Oregon’s first independent press dedicated to publishing classic and original literature for middle grade and young adult readers. Within the first year in operation, RainTown Press went into production on their first title, Spartacus and the Circus of Shadows by Portland author, Molly E. Johnson. RainTown Press is also gearing up for an incredible 2012, releasing an e-book version of Visibility by Seattle author, Sarah Neufeld, a title acquired from Bowler Hat Comics in 2011, and a fall lineup of two other fantastic first-time novels, Wax by Portland author, Phil Duncan, and The Last Burning of New London by Oregon native, Seattle author, Danielle Myers. RainTown’s spring 2013 offerings are also quite promising. We’ll be producing two more breakthrough novels, Artemis Dreamt by California author, Crystal Behran, along with Fire and Brimstone by Portland author, Kiersi Burkhart. For information about any of these titles, please visit us at the RainTown Press booth at Write to Publish. (We’re the ones hiding under the gigantic red umbrella.)

Terri Reed
At an early age Terri Reed discovered the wonderful world of fiction and declared she would one day write a book. Now she is fulfilling that dream and enjoys writing for Harlequin’s Love Inspired lines. She is an active member of both Romance Writers of America and American Christian Fiction Writers. She resides in the Pacific Northwest with her college-sweetheart husband, two wonderful children, and an array of critters. When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening and playing with her dogs. You can write to Terri at P.O. Box 19555 Portland, OR 97280 or visit email her at terrireed@sterling.net.
Jessa Slade

Despite a grade school aptitude test that suggested a career in farming, Jessa always wanted to be a writer. Her very early works include MY POMES, a grade school poetry chapbook rampant with unicorns and misspellings, and a torrid tween cowboy romance which her editor/mother asked her to revise and resubmit, changing the lovers to soul mates. After close to a million final draft words and nearly triple digit rejections, she won the 2007 Rose City Romance Writers Golden Rose writing contest and sold the story to NAL Signet Eclipse and has since published four urban fantasy romance novels in the Marked Souls series. Her first Harlequin Nocturne Cravings will be out this summer and her second contribution to the Hotter on the Edge science fiction romance anthology series will be out this winter.
