Digital Bindery
http://www.digitalbindery.com/
Digital Bindery llc., a Portland, Oregon based company, was started to address the growing reader frustration with low quality ebook conversions. Digital Binderly has focused their work in providing publishers and independent authors, the resources and skills they need to address the needs of their consumers. Digital Bindery provides high quality, personalized, digital conversion services with particular attention to emerging digital standards, optimizing text for digital display, and creating a seamless immersive experience for readers.
As relationships with our customers developed, we learned that there were many creative publishers who had fun and amazing ideas to incorporate technology into their marketing strategy and catalog of offerings. The biggest obstacle to delivering these products was the inability to hire qualified and knowledgeable people, and maintain their own digital department. We fill this need by working with publishers as their digital publishing partner to provide ebook conversions, immersive product websites, and multimedia-enhanced ebooks. Digital Bindery is constantly seeking to expand our offerings to meet the needs of the publishing community. We now offer web development, consulting, digital distribution, and digital supplemental materials in addition to our artisan ebook conversion services.

Relium Media
Relium Media tells big stories. The mysterious and supernatural world of Angel Punk is a riveting story told over four distinct mediums: interactive website; comic series; novel; and feature film. These properties are being created concurrently and will be officially launched in unison the summer of 2012. Prior to the official launch, Relium will be releasing comics, compelling content on-line as well as film behind-the-scenes. Early adopters will have a blast following Angel Punk well before the general public enters our world. But, both the traditional fan and the serious/early fan will benefit: the early fan can engage at a micro, grassroots level learning secrets and following the creators as the first year of content is released; the traditional fan will enter the world through the novel or the film and then be thrilled to extend their experience through the other, already-developed, ready-to-purchase properties.
RainTown Press
Established in 2010 by Cory Freeman, RainTown Press is Portland, Oregon’s first and only independent press dedicated to publishing literature for middle grade and young adults. Portland serves as the perfect backdrop for a press dedicated to young readers—the diversity of culture, literature, and landscape here encourages us to be strong, autonomous, and even outright rebellious. There is a spirit of independent thinking and innovation paired with perseverance and tenacity among the people of the Northwest. Through the drudgery and gray skies, we not only survive, we thrive. We view the wet days we endure as being custom-made for reading a good book—or in our case, making one. To that end, we say, “Close the umbrella, and LET IT DRIZZLE.”
Mission: RainTown Press is dedicated to encouraging young readers to become lifelong readers and lovers of great literature. RainTown Teaching Classics and RainTown Originals aim to engage young readers in a way that will exemplify and perpetuate America’s great book tradition and reading culture. We make it our mission to help give rise to young voices, speaking directly to the spirit they embody, through our books and other multimedia endeavors.

IPRC (Independent Publishing Resource Center)
The IPRC’s mission is to facilitate creative expression, identity and community by providing individual access to tools and resources for creating independently published media and artwork. In our twelve years of operation, we’ve provided artistic services to upwards of 23,000 Oregonians through membership, use of the Center, workshops and outreach programs. We’ve empowered thousands of people to create and publish their own artwork, writing, zines, books, websites, comics and graphic novels.
We’ve helped community members find their artistic voices – especially disenfranchised youth (including GLBT, minority, at-risk, and homeless youth) whose lifestyles and experiences tend to be marginalized in the major media. We’ve helped countless individuals to discover themselves through art, and to reach and inspire others in the community by publishing and sharing their work. By gathering such diverse people under one roof, the IPRC nourishes an expansive and productive community. In fact the IPRC is at the very heart of Portland’s vibrant “do-it-yourself” (DIY) artistic and literary communities – it’s a creative home for many local artists, and an incubator for the independent creative spirit that makes Portland unique.
